About Fred

I am a creative and copywriter who offers a unique skill set.

As an actor, I have worked extensively on Chicago stages, acted in Broadway National Touring companies, and appeared in Regional and Stock companies across the country.  I also work extensively as a corporate entertainer.

You can learn more about that part of my life at www.fredzimmermanbio.com.

Currently, I am a freelance Account Director and Senior Creative with GetSynchronicity, a Tradeshow & Events Agency in Chicago. Prior to joining the GetSynch Team, I briefly worked with Northstar Lottery Group to help energize the Illinois Lottery brand for Retailers and Consumers.

Prior to that, I was an in-house Account Executive and Senior Copywriter with Live Marketing - the Tradeshow & Events Agency for 9 years.

My clients come to me when they want to ensure that their event projects are successful. Of course, "success" means different things to different people. For example:

  • The Aon Corporation had to entice C-Level attendees into their exhibit and get them to engage with their message and connect with their reps. And you know how hard that is to do with ANY attendee, much less C-levels. Not only did our fully-integrated program yield incredible results, it won 11 industry awards.

  • When BMA Global came to me, they wanted to push their event out to the world online. In response, I lead a team that created an interactive web portal that attracted over twice the number of live attendees, from over 30 countries, to participate. Respected industry bloggers were given access to all the sessions, and they fed steady content to the site. In fact, we had to contact Twitter 3x to get them to remove our cap - that's how much traffic we were generating. That portal won "Best Microsite Event" from Event Magazine.

  • Sprint came to me for many years with various challenges and goals - small budgets, tight quarters, complicated messaging, new branding, etc. Each year, I created a process that ENSURED that qualified attendees streamed into their exhibit, learned about Sprint's updated solution story, and connected with reps.

  • Klacci Locks, based in Taipei, China, had a unique challenge; they were well-known around the world (especially in North America), but no one knew about them at home.  This gave me my first chance to create a tradeshow program mounted in China.  It was awarded Best In Show for two years in a row, and we're currently creating a corporate video for them
